On this, I wanted to give myself a challenge, so beyond just making the scene, I was able to get the entire thing done, start to finish in only a week and a half. I made heavy use of modular assets, lots of decals, and Nvidia's VXGI dynamic lighting so I didn't need to worry about lightmaps and could quicky iterate upon the look. Overall, I'm very satisfied with how it came out.

Since I already had an interior sci-fi hallway, for my next project I wanted to do something completely different.
I wanted to use what I knew about environments to create a massive, expansive landscape. I made an original concept, to convey a world fractured and broken by a cataclysmic event hundreds of years ago, with life returned to it but signs of the damage still there. It's easily the largest map I've ever made, 32x32km in total, and through a lot of work it still runs at a solid 60 fps in realtime. |
